To commemorate the 122nd birthday of K. Kamaraj, a special program was organized at Amrita Vidyalayam, Nallampalayam, on June 15, 2024. The event took place in Sudhamani Hall and was graced by Dr. Bhuvaneshwari, Associate Professor in the Tamil Department at the Government College of Arts, Coimbatore. The ceremony began with a warm welcome by the Principal, Smt. Jayajothi, followed by an introductory speech by Smt. Kiruthika, Head of the Tamil Department.
The special guest, Dr. Bhuvaneshwari, spoke about Kamaraj’s simple life, his focus on education, the Mid-day Meal Scheme, and the construction of schools in rural areas, highlighting the numerous projects he completed over nine years for the welfare of the people. She encouraged the students to lead a simple life and follow Kamaraj’s path to becoming great leaders.
The program featured artistic performances by the students, including a group song about Kamaraj, vibrant dances, and a dramatic portrayal of significant events from his life. These performances helped the students learn about and appreciate the simplicity and dedication of Kamaraj’s life.
The session concluded with a celebration of K. Kamaraj’s life and legacy, reaffirming his ideals of simplicity, integrity, and service to humanity. His unwavering dedication to the welfare of our nation continues to inspire us to work tirelessly for a just and equitable society.
