Amrita Vidyalayam, Nallampalayam, celebrated Vana Mahotsav with a unique blend of creativity and environmental awareness, led by the visionary Principal Mrs. K. Jayajothy. The celebration began with a vibrant welcome as students, dressed in tree costumes, lined the entrance to greet the Principal. Their costumes, paired with inspiring quotes like “Save Trees, Save Earth,” brought the essence of a forest to life, setting a festive and eco-friendly tone for the day.
This was followed by a compelling speech on tree conservation, emphasizing the critical role trees play in combating climate change and supporting biodiversity.
A theatrical highlight of the celebration was the “Vana Mahotsav Tree Act,” a skit performed by students. The act vividly depicted the struggles of a tree in a world facing deforestation, blending art and advocacy to leave a lasting impact on the audience.
In a symbolic gesture, students presented a sapling to the Principal, underscoring the school’s dedication to nurturing nature and fostering environmental stewardship. The Principal then honored students who excelled in the National Students Paryavaran Competition by distributing certificates and encouraging further participation in environmental causes.
The event concluded with a powerful oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to protect and conserve trees, promising to incorporate eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The Vana Mahotsav celebration at Amrita Vidyalayam was more than just an event—it was a green symphony that harmonized the collective efforts of students and staff in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
